A Hero's Journey

I had several takeaways from the video A Hero’s Journey. First, I was reminded that we are put here to make a difference in the world with our lives. We lose sight of this too easy being bombarded with our trials. Second, he said that we must live every moment of our lives like it matters. I agree that life is too short, and we are only given time that we need to use wisely. He made a great statement that I wholeheartedly agree with, he says “It’s just that most people are too absorbed to pay attention to the obvious.” This has caused me to reflect on myself and ponder if I am too absorbed and trials as well in my own life.

My third takeaway was that these are the only three questions that will matter; “1) Have I contributed something meaningful, 2) Am I am good person, and 3) Who did I love and who loved me. I agree these are the three most important things we should focus on daily. I love that he said we need to find our God-given talents. You can discover your God-given talents by asking five people know you really well and ask them what is it that you do better than anyone else in the world. I find this very helpful because I usually can’t think of many talents that I have, but when asking others, they point out things that I don’t even think are talents. Once you discover your God-given talents than you can find things you love and use your talents to bless others.

Finally, the last takeaway from the video was “It’s not about you it’s all about you.” We are the masters of our own destiny, and we have to take control of our lives. We are here to make a difference!
